orange.
And I for one wasn't expecting it to go with much. But... then I got home and right before my eyes were pretty much endless possibilities.
Just think of it... Honestly this skirt goes with all of these:
*aqua cardigan
*chambray buttondown
*white tees
*grey tees
*this white blousey top I have
*a blue and white gingham top (and of course the striped one I'm wearing in the pictures)
*pinks
*yellow (depends on the piece)
*and navy is soooo cute with it!
So today I picked a navy and white striped blouse (buttoned up pretty high for a little cheekier/nerdy take on it...but that's just me!) with the bright orange skirt, yellow t-straps, and my go-to olive crossbody bag.
The yellow shoes up the brightness on this outfit, so fun and springy but still classy! So I tried a new thing with my hair today.... found it in my new Lucky mag! So first of all I started with blowdrying my hair. They say not to worry about getting it all perfect and smooth for this (and since I hate blowdrying that was a relief), and that it actually works better if your hair's a bit frizzy! Next? I curled it. I used a couple different sizes of hot rollers, making sure all the rolls go the same direction. Left those in for 10-20 minutes-ish. Then took my curlers out... let my hair cool for just a few minutes... and then I very, very gently brushed through it! And voila! So pretty! It gives your curls a kind of retro-look, if that makes any sense. And it actually turned out way better than I'd expected. So last but not least I swept back one side and pinned it with these two cute jeweled bobby pins. A perfect understated little bling. I know you can't really see the pins.... I couldn't get a good pic of them. But basically they were these darling J. Crew bobby pins with different little jewels on the tips. Cute, huh? Love, Reagan Shirt: J. Crew, Skirt: Ann Taylor LOFT, Bag: J. Crew, Shoes: Old Navy (steal!! so cute with EVERYTHING and they look adorable for such a low price) |
