Swaag.

So. I would appreciate very  much if you would all do me a favor and go download the app Swaag....  it's free and it's basically an Instagram for fashion:) follow me at @onlyreagan (same username on Instagram if you'd like to follow me there, as well).  Users post  photos of "looks" and then you can tag where everything's from... it's pretty dang nice, I have to admit.  Especially for someone such as I who doesn't have a lot of patience for moving the pictures I take to my computer... then uploading them... then posting.  It takes ages.

Love you all,

Reags

Honestly though.   Go get it.

Much appreciated, and happy holidays.

Kate & Midway

Let me introduce you to dear Kate.  As in, Kate Spade New York.

It's really not a great picture, I'm fully aware.  And you can't even see the actual color of Kate, so let me find a professional picture real quick...

There. That's better.

Anyways I got Kate for my birthday, and I love her with my whole heart.  How could you not, though?

Got some beautiful pictures to post from Fall Break... but we'll save that for later:)

Homecoming 2012

Hey I'm back. Not going to rant about myself slacking off again... but let's just say don't give up on me quite yet:)

So.  What you've all been waiting for (for much too long).

Homecoming 2012.... Basically the best first date out there:) (and thanks to my sweet date... but I'm doubting that he'll see this.)

Skirt: J.Crew Belt: J.Crew Shoes: DSW (ps they're suede... loving it for fall...) Necklaces: My mother's Blouse: H&M.  It was actually a shift dress... but we just cut it and had it hemmed to make it into this darling top! Felt pretty creative.

My crazy, crazy group.  But I'm pretty sure we had the most fun out of anybody there...

Just the best day.
PS Sorry I don't have more actual pictures of the dance... but frankly I'm  not quite sure on how to get the pictures legally from the photographer....

That's all for now... happy fall break!!

Too Long.

Oh my, oh my.  I'm slacking again.

So terribly sorry for the delay in my latest posts... but high school is WHOOPING on me.  I've had maybe 40 seconds of spare time in the last couple weeks.... and you can't do a whole lot with 40 seconds.  So before I end up rambling about my life in general... here's what you've all been waiting for.

Back to school, and what I wore.

Day 1: (too bad I don't have pictures, right? not for long. I'll get on that.)

Okay nevermind I really don't want to do that without the pictures.  So I'll just give you all a bit of my wisdom.

Don't wear colored jeans with a chambray top to school.

That was on my list, it really was.  Because it's cute.  Dang cute in fact.  But only EVER GIRL AT LONE PEAK HIGH SCHOOL has worn that outfit at least once in the past three weeks.  Except for me.  Because I'm really not a fan of wearing what everybody else wears.

So that outfit is now off my list.

And let me clarify something, yes some girls have the "rare" colors of jeans, like cranberry or bright yellow or even green, but that doesn't make it any better.  Save those jeans for an outfit that people will actually remember, and not just because you were one of 37 people wearing it that day.  I'd put on a graphic tee and a really cool jacket or something.  Layers are always good. Especially going into fall...

That's all for today.  I'll be back with a REAL LIVE blog post with PICTURES and everything real soon.

Love,
Reagan

PS: Did I mention I'm going to homecoming?? :) I'll fill everybody in on that and what I'm wearing soon too...

Just Around the Corner

I can't help but feel like something completely life changing is just around the corner.

Who knows? It may even be high school.  I hear it's a rather personality-influencing experience.

That's right kids.  8 days until I am officially a Lone Peak Knight (go team!!)

Speaking of team, we've also got our first tennis match today.  Lone Peak versus Brighton.  Let's go girls.

The other things that happens to be just around the corner is fall itself... my favorite season of them all.  So yesterday I picked a slightly more autumn-y outfit.  This bronze tulle skirt was shared in an earlier post (Easter, I believe) and the chambray buttondown is a go-to no matter the season! I slipped on my new yellow flats (yellow flats have been on my wishlist for ages) which I scored from Old Navy and are positively adorable.... Plus my sparkley J. Crew belt.  The belt really pulls it all together (pun intended).

Yesterday also happened to be the first time I not only blowdried, but STRAIGHTENED my hair this entire summer!!! I cannot stand blow-drying.  So I avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

But anyways I also topped off the look with a "pink blush" tinted kisser.  It's the only true lipstick I have, and I love it with all my heart!! It was actually just a free Clinique sample from our good friend Nordstrom's... but it's good enough for me.  Can't wait to wear it to school to mix things up a bit!!

Love, Reags

PS:  No, my arm is not blue as one girl commented.  I just crippled myself again and have been wearing a wrist brace.

Quite Impressive.

frockcandy.com

I was impressed.  I really and truly was.  And also a little bit heartsick at all of the adorable accessories, tops, shoes, and etc.  This site is packed with little trinkets that are both 100% adorable and 100% affordable.  For real.  Not like "affordable for the girl with her parent's credit card".  No.  Like "affordable for the girl with NO credit card, but a passion for style, and a babysitter's budget".

For instance.

These made my wishlist (and my shopping bag)

Color Clash Clutch: $29

Jumper-S Coral Braided Cork Wedges $39

Passion Fruit Sheer Faux Button Up: $29

Sea Urchin Earrings: $14

Seeing Clearly Glasses: $10

Solar Flare Earrings: $14

SCORE.

I'm currently crossing my fingers for both pairs of earrings, and is it just me? Or did I see some wedges that looked practically EXACTLY like those at Nordstrom for a wee bit more than $39? Just a thought.

Toodles.

Tickled Pink (with a bauble on top)

You're probably all quite familiar with my pink Roxy jeans by now, but if not, let me introduce you.

These are my favorites.  As in, all time favorites.  I have to force myself to space them out so I don't wear them every week.

So the other night to go hang with some friends I threw on those lovely pink with a white pocket tee (Target. $8.  Steal.)  And a denim jacket in case it got a bit chilly outside.  Finally I topped it off with my all time favorite statement necklace.  I call it... my blue bauble necklace.  That's just what it looks like to me.  I actually believe I got it from the Brass Plum department in Nordstrom... it's worth the trip to go check out their latest jewelry, they always have TONS.

And, of course, a small stack of bracelets to complete the look.

Enjoy.

Love, Reagan

PS This coming week might be more than a little hectic for me, what with Lone Peak tennis tryouts at 6:30 in the morning, and then I'm off to Montana with two of my very best girls for a sectional tournament!! So anyways I've got some fantastic posts coming up.... but they may be slightly delayed.  Wish me luck!

IOD.

That would be Instagram Obsessive Disorder.  And hey, I suppose I've got that!  It's the truth.  So please... if you're one of the lucky ones with an iSomething.... follow @reagstennis this very moment.  I'm a good photographer.  For an amateur.  As a matter of fact photography could be called my passion,  in a way.  Here a few of my favorite's I've done.  You'll notice some of the pictures look familiar... probably because some of them have already been posted on Sweet Nothings... Also keep in mind that I AM the photography for all of these pics... unless I'm like the subject of them or something and it's not a self-portrait I've done... but the majority of them by far are done by moi, and moi alone.

So go. Follow @reagstennis.  And... it would be much appreciated if you would let me know what you think of my photos... Critique and comments alike:)

Slacker in Red

Oh my heavens.  I am such a slacker.  It's been what... two weeks since I last posted? Let's just say that summer fever (that's a thing, right?) has gotten to me and lately I've been more than a little scatterbrained.  But that's okay.  As long as I pull it together for REAL LIVE HIGH SCHOOL in ONE MONTH and 2 days!!!!!

There is also precisely one month and 21 days until my sweet sixteen.  Ya boy.

Moving on.

This little outfit is one that I'm saving for back to school, but I just had to share it with all of my lovely followers...

Everybody needs a neutral, pull over sweater like this.   You can honestly wear it with about anything in your closet.  And in any way you want! I layered it over and dark blue and white striped J. Crew blouse, with red cutoffs from Old Navy.   The sweater itself is from BP in Nordstrom (my home away from home).  The cutoffs dress it down a bit, but the collar and top knot give it a bit of a preppy... hipster... nerdy look that I've come to adore.   I didn't bother putting on any shoes with this outfit... (summer fever again) but I'd probably go with a white sandal or even the right shade of brown.  Up to you.  You can't see the earrings all that well, unfortunately, but they're darling little crystal drops edged in gold from Quincee's Boutique in American Fork, Utah!! SIX DOLLARS.  Yes.  Score.

Pretty in Purple (plus slightly crippled)

Quick question: why are there so many names for purple? Mauve. Violet. Indigo. Burgundy.  (yes I know I cheated on some of those... but still...)

Next question:  Who noticed that slightly life-threatening fire destroying the mountain up in Alpine?  (google it if not.)  Please keep the people up there in your prayers.  Already groups of my friends have been evacuated, and the winds are supposed to change drastically tonight so who knows what will still be standing in the morning.

Now before I go on, please notice the ugly bandages in the photos below.  Not socks, bandages. (though I did draw a Nike swoosh on one for tennis today...)   No, I do not know how to spell it, let alone pronounce it.  I couldn't even tell my coaches what was wrong with me today.  I just pointed and told them it hurt.  And that I wasn't faking to get out of conditioning (although I wasn't going to turn that down).  But anyways I get to wear these lovely semi-permanent wraps all WEEK!! What does this mean? Trying to bathe (not shower) with my legs out of the tub.  Getting a simply fantastic tanline from playing outside with these. And much, much more.  So yes, now that we've gotten that out of the way.... here's my newest outfit.

This week I tried something new.  Purple....

I picked up this skirt at the Park City J.Crew Factory outlet... for like $29. (no joke, i was a happy girl). Plus it's length is so great!! It comes to right below the knees, but the fullness and cut of the skirt make you feel like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, not a polygamist.  As a bonus, there are pockets.  Pockets are always a bonus.  And of course there was my all time favorite hair style, the sock bun.   I was seemingly the last of all the freshman girls to figure out this lovely little trick, but it was worth it.  Just to clarify, yes, there is a sock in that bun.  I accented the outfit with gold earring from Nordstrom Rack ($8!! Single digits!!) and gold flips to accomodate my flexible casts.

That's all for tonight.  I'm going to go stare out my window at the smoke engulfing the mountains.

Ta ta for now.

Hipsters and Lazy Afternoons

What's a hipster? (haven't we had this conversation before?)

Here's my definition.  Nerdy.  But cute.  Unexpected, preppy even, and the opposite of trendy (except for maybe the other opposite of trendy... which would be old fashioned. in a bad way.)

Remember Miles? The ultimate hipster counselor? I just had to share this photo with you all to demonstrate just how hipster he is.  And no, none of us realized this photo was being taken.

Next...

My latest attempt at hipster (even though it's truly not much) is just stacking a bunch of little bracelets.  I guess this doesn't have to be hipster.  It could be classy, sophisticated (depending on the bracelets), or even just summer chic.  So I just added these three skinny ones to my outfit the other day with my red t-shirt.  I'm loving true red lately... and this basic t-shirt was exactly what I was looking for! (Abercrombie & Fitch).   So here ya go...

And here's a shot where you can see the actual color of the t shirt.  It has little rolled sleeves and a pocket with the A&F logo.  Sorry it's kind of blurry... that's just the effect I used to blur out the background...

Voila.  Well... that's all for today... But I have a cute shoot of my middle sister for later this week!!

Ta Ta for now.

Love, Reagan

PS.  Here's the lazy afternoon part of my post... these darling neighborhood kids came over and proceeded to spend the afternoon/evening painting with water.  Most entertaining thing out there.  A bucket of water, a couple paintbrushes, and some concrete or something? And you're good to go for an hour or more. :)

Ever So Sorry!

First things first.

I am so very sorry for not posting for literally nearly a month.   I officially win the worst-blogger-of-the-month award.  Hands down.

Next...  A new outfit!! Summer means bright colors, bold prints, and gauzy little dresses.  So why not all three at once?  (side note: I successfully curled my hair with a wand for the first time for these pics... pretty dang proud.)

On to my insanely busy life.  Did I tell you about Mexico? Maybe so.  Doesn't matter.  Here are just a few of the pictures I promised... hang tight and hopefully I'll get around to a full update(:

That's me.  Nearly drowning.  (I'm the one struggling under the green floatie)

Legit mariachi band.  Let's just say this was a big moment.

What's next?? Oh!  Only one of the best weeks of my life.  BYU tennis camp.  5 days of nonstop tennis and some of my best friends on the planet.  These kids only make every single day of my life. :)  Also... I think I just might have a future in sports photography (ahem. action shots.)

My roommate, Madeline.  She's basically one of my very best friends.  And if I have to be up at 2 in the morning with someone, Mags isn't a bad choice.

The girls... (and jake in the background)

Emily.

This is Brig.  He's a stud.  He's also 11.

Sarah.

Zack.

Well that was forever long but we needed a catch up... Keep checking Sweet Nothings!!

Love you all...

Coral Coral Coral

I've got two sets of photos for you.  First of all...

To The Max:

This is an adorable coral maxi dress I found at a little boutique called Apricot Lane in the Riverwoods (down by Provo Canyon I think).  They're really afforadable, and as you can see, have tons of cute stuff.   I paired it with aqua earrings that my darling friend Bridget made for me! (note: i am NOT one of those girls who can make anything.   I struggle with doing my own nails.)  Also, check out the detailing on the dress.   I love the little ruffles on the straps, etc.

PS.  Yes I'm aware that these aren't really impressive photos.  But that's okay.  Because I just recruited Reese (little sister #2) for a photo shoot (really I'm amazed that I got her to cooperate) in another supes cute coral top from Gap.  With a unbelievable pink peony that we snipped from my mom's bush, believe it or not!  Follow me on Instagram (reagstennis) for even more gorgeous photos of Reese.

I am legitimately in love with these photos.

Love,

Reagan (reagstennis on Instagram!) :)
